Why do we sleep?
Let's say that sleeping is like giving your body a mini-vacation. Just like having to drink water and eat food, sleep is essential in our lives for survival and good health. Sleeping gives your body the chance to prepare for the next day and allows your body to have some good rest!
Did you know that while you are sleeping, your brain is doing some really amazing things? The brain 'saves' new information and the nerve cells reorganise and communicate supporting the healthy function of the brain. During sleep, the body fixes cells and replaces energy levels. This is quite awesome, isn't it? All of the mentioned activities that your brain does while you are asleep are super important as without them, the body cannot function properly.
The amount of sleep that each person needs all depends on their age and we must also remember that everyone's bodies are different!
