Volcanoes are the Earth's surface opening.

When a volcano is active, they can let out gas, hot magma, and ash when they erupt.

Some volcano eruptions can be extremely violent and cause damage.

Volcano originates from the name of the Roman God of Fire, his name was Vulcan.

You will most often find volcanoes where tectonic plates meet but they can also be found in areas that contain abnormally hot rock.

Earth has many volcanoes but the biggest volcano known to Man in the solar system is Mars, it measures 600km wide and 21km high.
