Teaching children to count concrete objects and ending with a special guest Mr Bear

Counting can be fun, collect some of your favourite objects to count and place them into cupcake holders counting from 1 to 5. Some paper, a marker and a few polka dots are all you need to make some homemade flashcards.

I used some cupcake holders and some shells for this activity, counting concrete objects. First, we count out how many cupcake holders we have and then lay out your flashcards so that we know how many items we need to place into each cupcake holder. How ever many dots are on the flashcard will tell us how many items we need to place into each holder. Help mom and dad count how many dots are displayed on the flashcards. Counting concrete objects is so much more fun than just looking at the numbers.

To end off some numeracy skills, some endless bubble fun is in order. Watch how to make great big bubbles with some easy items that are most probably lying around in your house, you just need a sock, some water, a plastic bottle and some dishwashing liquid.

Ending off with a special guest, Mr Bear, he is here for our storytime and he is wearing a mask because he doesn't want to get any germs that will make him sick. He loves this story 'Have you ever seen a sneep?' Have you?

Until next time,
