Today we are going to be using our imaginations and visit the Aquarium, enjoy some fun facts about the animals that you are going to discover on your visit today!

Penguin

  • They cannot fly.
  • They have adapted flippers to help them swim in the water.
  • They mostly live in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • They can drink seawater.

Crab

  • There are more than 4,500 species.
  • They walk and swim sideways.
  • A group of crabs is called a cast.

Starfish

  • They have no brain and no blood.
  • They can be very heavy.
  • They are not fish.
  • They can't survive in freshwater.

Clownfish

  • There are about 30 known species of Clownfish.
  • All Clownfish are born male (boy).
  • They are not good swimmers.
  • They communicate (talk to each other) by making popping and clicking noises.
  • Females (girl) lay around 1000 eggs.

Eel

  • There are over 400 species of Eel.
  • They live in both saltwater and freshwater.
  • Even though it looks like a snake, it is a fish.
  • They have gills and very sharp teeth.

Octopus

  • They are very intelligent.
  • They have 3 hearts and blue blood.
  • Their 'tentacles' are actually called arms.
  • Their camouflage skills are out of this world.
  • Rather than swimming, they often walk on the seafloor.

Turtle

  • They think that jellyfish are delicious.
  • They can hold their breath for 5 hours under the water.
  • They live to be about 100 years old.
  • They are reptiles.
  • They have special glands that remove salt from the water that they drink.

Seahorse

  • They love to eat.
  • They may not look like it but they are fish.
  • They are found all over the world.
  • They are bad swimmers.

Stingray

  • They are closely related to sharks.
  • Their long tails have a spine and venom.
  • They eat clams, shrimp and mussels.

Shark

  • They don't have bones.
  • Most sharks have good eyesight.
  • Their skin feels similar to sandpaper, rough.
  • There are over 500 species.

Dolphin

  • They have 2 stomachs.
  • There are around 40 species. 
  • They can live up to 50 years old.
  • They are very intelligent.
  • They never chew their food.
